Following its acquisition of Adranos, Inc. and its solid rocket motor production site in Stone County last year, Anduril is set to enhance this facility’s capabilities significantly. The expansion aims to increase the production capacity of tactical-scale solid rocket motors from 600 to over 6,000 units annually. This upgrade will meet the growing demand from Anduril’s customers, ensuring a steady supply of advanced munitions.

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing crucial support through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program, along with assistance for building and site improvements. Local partners such as AccelerateMS and the Stone County Economic Development Partnership are also playing vital roles in facilitating this project.

To support its production growth, Anduril is actively hiring for more than 60 new highly skilled roles in Stone County, with the goal of filling these positions by the end of 2024. This expansion not only boosts local employment but also underscores the region’s capability to support high-tech industries.

MDA Executive Director Bill Cork noted the state’s global recognition in aerospace advancements and the project’s role in enhancing Mississippi’s aerospace portfolio. Anduril Industries Senior Vice President LTG (ret.) Neil Thurgood emphasized the efficiency and scale of their advanced manufacturing process for solid rocket motors. Stone County Economic Development Partnership Director Layla Essary and AccelerateMS Executive Director Dr. Courtney Taylor both praised the project for its significant economic benefits and high-paying job opportunities.

Anduril Industries' expansion in Stone County marks a significant milestone for Mississippi’s defense and aerospace sectors. With substantial investment, job creation, and enhanced production capabilities, this project showcases the state’s commitment to fostering innovation and economic growth.
