Mississippi's high school graduation rate for the 2022-23 school year reached was 89.4%, the highest in state history, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This marks an increase of nearly 15 percent over the past decade.

This increase includes a decrease in the state's dropout rate to 8.5%. Both this and the graduation rate exceed the national average, marking the continued improvement of education in Mississippi. These improvements come thanks to the hard work of our state's teachers and faculty members, who managed to keep students on track throughout the COVID-19 disruption.
