According to the Mississippi Department of Economic Security, the state reached an unemployment percentage of 2.6% in November 2023, the lowest in the state's history. This continues the positive trend of unemployment in Mississippi, with seasonally adjusted lows being reached five times since March 2023.

The flag of the state of Mississippi.

After recording a record high unemployment rate of 15.6% in April 2020, unemployment in Mississippi, unemployment has steadily declined since the beginning of 2021, and is now half of what it was at pre-pandemic levels.

This positive trend is not limited to Mississippi, as unemployment in the entire U.S. was at 3.7% as of November 2023. The entire US economy has continued to restore itself and improve past pre-COVID levels, thanks in no small part to the hard work of small business owners who continued to work for their communities through hard economic times.

The lowering unemployment rate in Mississippi has led to poverty rates slowly declining, and with the potential passage of a bipartisan pro-life tax relief bill, these may continue to drop. Thanks to the hard work of Mississippi's business owners and employees, the state continues to grow towards a better future for all of its citizens.
